1. Executive Summary:
Shalom Orphanage is dedicated to providing comprehensive support for orphaned children, with a focus on education and skill development.
The proposed project aims to empower children who face academic challenges by establishing a workshop that focuses on practical skills such as welding, carpentry, and brick making.
This initiative not only enhances the children’s capabilities but also contributes to the
financial sustainability of the orphanage.
2. Project Objectives
- Provide alternative skill-based education for children facing academic difficulties.
- Foster a supportive environment for skill development in welding, carpentry, and brick making.
- To promote entrepreneurship among the children, by providing them with the necessary skills to start
their own businesses. - To create awareness and support for the orphanage through the workshop and the products produced.
- Generate income for Shalom Orphanage through the sale of products created by the workshop.
3. Target Beneficiaries
Orphaned children who encounter challenges in traditional education settings, particularly those with an
aptitude for hands-on skills.
4. Project Activities
A suitable location will be identified for the workshop. This will be a location accessible to the community for easy access and patronage.
The necessary welding, carpentry and bricks making tools and equipment will be purchased to equip the workshop. This will include welding machines, saws, drills, hammers, nails, wood, machine for making bricks, clay, sand, cement and other materials.
Equipment and Tools: The workshop will be equipped with the following tools and equipment:
Welding:
- Welding machine
- Welding helmet
- Welding gloves
- Welding electrodes
- Safety glasses
- Welding jacket
- Welding wire
- Welding clamps
- Angle grinder
- Welding table
Carpentry:
- Workbench
- Hand tools e.g. cut saw
- Power tools, e.g. drill, circular saw
- Clamps, e.g. G-clamp, C-clamp,
- Safety equipment’s, e.g. safety glasses
- Measuring and making tools, e.g. tape measure
- Storage for the equipment and tools
Bricks making:
- Machine for making bricks
- Mixer
- Sand
- Coarse aggregate

Trainers will be recruited to provide the necessary training to the orphans. The trainers will be skilled
welders and carpenters with experience in teaching and doing the work of producing different products
according to the need of client.
The orphans will be trained in welding and carpentry for a period of six months. The training will be hands-on and practical, with the orphans working on real-life projects.
After completing their training, the children will produce various items with help of trainers, such as

The products produced by the orphans will be marketed and sold through various channels such as online platforms, local shops, and exhibitions also according to the need of client.
The project team will monitor the progress of the orphans and skilled labor and evaluate the success of the project.
NOTE: The business will need to source high-quality raw materials that meet the required standards.
Budget: The approximately total budget for this project is $565,000. This will cover the cost of
purchasing equipment, land acquisition, construction and other expenses.
