About Us

Shalom Orphanage Centre, a registered NGO under Tanzania’s Non-Government Organization Act of 2002, was founded in 2004 with a mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Karatu and neighboring regions. Located 160 km from Arusha city, between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Shalom is home to 75 children aged 0 to 18 years, cared for by a dedicated team of 22 staff members.

75+ Children Cared For

We currently provide a loving home for 75 children aged 0 to 18, ensuring they receive food, shelter, education, and medical care.

3 Regions Served

Our impact extends across the Karatu, Arusha, Manyara, and Kilimanjaro regions, uplifting orphans, street children, and widows from very poor families.

Education and Growth

We run a nursery school for our youngest children and support the education of older children in local schools, equipping them with knowledge and skills to combat poverty and build a better future.
